From the Baltimore Sun:

Lt. Cmdr. Rebecca C. Dickinson managed the food operation and taught a course in the leadership-ethics-law department at the Naval Academy between September 2004 and May 2007, according to the Navy.

She said on the witness stand today in federal court in Washington that she worked as an escort in an alleged upscale prostitution ring run by Deborah Jeane Palfrey. Dickinson, 38, known to her clients as "Renee," a Tennessee native, said she sought out the group through an Internet search and began working for it as a call girl in October 2005.

Her first appointment was a test run arranged by the firm, Pamela Martin & Associates, with a man in Howard County for which she was not paid, she testified, according to a transcript of the testimony. She later charged $275 for her appointments, which nearly always included sex, she said.

Dickinson testified that Palfrey sent her to an initial encounter with a client as a test to see how she would perform. She said she met the client at his Howard County home and after some small talk, "we began to have sexual relations."
