Harkleroad will be the first naked tennis player in Playboy

Ashley Harkleroad has posed nude for this August's edition of Playboy magazine.

"Ashley Harkleroad nude in Playboy" is not a headline she is shy about.

"Sometimes they put athletes in Playboy," said Harkleroad. "Like Amanda Beard, or Gabriella Reece. So I'll be the first tennis player ever. That's kind of cool. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal. I'm proud of my body. I stay in shape and try to stay fit. I'm just trying to represent a female athlete and her body. That can be sexy too."

"I thought about it, and it was something that I did," Harkleroad said to the Associated Press. "I'm proud of my body. I was representing a female athlete's body."

"I'll be the first tennis player ever. That's kind of cool," Harkleroad said to the AP.

"I stay in shape and try to stay fit. I'm just trying to represent a female athlete and her body. That can be sexy too. It's no big deal."

Serena Williams said "I'm happy for her if that's what she wanted to do. It takes a lot of courage. And whether I'm courageous enough, I don't know, but it's great for someone to be so courageous and tough."
