6.3 Earthquake Hits Aleutian Islands Off Alaska Coast

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter Scale hit the Aleutian Islands off Alaska late Tuesday night.Aleutian Islands

According to AP news, there are no immediate reports of damage or injuries and no tsunami warning was issued.

The U.S. Geological Survey and the National Weather Service reports that the quake occurred at 0418 GMT on Wednesday at a depth of 15 km in the ocean, a few kilometers west of Kiska Island in the Rat Islands group of the Aleutians, 274 km southeast of Attu Station.
