Sarah Palin continues to lead Tony Knowles and Diane Benson is gaining fast on Don Young.
According to a poll conducted by Anchorage-based Dittman Research and Communications ending October 22, Republican candidate Palin is leading Democratic candidate Tony Knowles by 9 percentage points.
"It's encouraging to see numbers like that," said Palin. "But that doesn't mean we are going to stop the work we are doing. We need to continue to spread our message about positive change for Alaska. On November 7th, we'll all see the only poll that matters."
A poll conducted by Hays Research Group on October 24 - 25 shows Don Young at 43% and Diane Benson 34% and Undecided 15%. "This is another great step for this campaign", states Kris J. Pierce, Campaign Manager for the Diane Benson campaign. "This shows that we are reaching out to the voters of this state. We are gaining and are closer than any other Democrat since John Devens, former Mayor of Valdez in 1990." The poll showed that Rep. Young lost nine points to the Undecided in just the last week since the Craciun poll. The results also showed seven points for third party candidates. Benson received the endorsement of Alexander Crawford on the KAKM "Runnings" program on Wednesday night. Crawford is the Libertarian Party candidate for Congress.
