"Drunk as a skunk" Devito Rocks The View

By Dennis Zaki - Barbara Walters says Danny DeVito is welcome on "The View" after appearing to be intoxicated Wednesday on the talk show.

He also made some comments about President Bush.

The New York Post reported that he called President Bush "numb nuts".

The actor said he had been out partying all night with George Clooney, adding: "I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me."

Asked if he had even been to bed yet, he admitted: "I don't know. Not really. I'm going to wait a while and go to sleep."

Later, he launched into a string of unflattering impressions of Mr Bush, and expressed his delight at the Democrats' victory in the recent Congressional elections and defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld's departure.

He also spoke about how he and actress wife Rhea Perlman had stayed in the White House's famous Lincoln Bedroom during President Bill Clinton's time in office.

"We went in and we made it our business to really wreck the joint," he said.

"I mean every place in that bedroom was ..."

Co-host Joy Behar put it bluntly Thursday morning: "He was drunk as a skunk."

"Danny DeVito is not an alcoholic. He's just a guy who had too many to drink with his friends," pal Rosie O'Donnell said. "He was here, he was enjoying himself, he had a wonderful night out, and he was a little drunk."
