Pennsylvania - A student brought a gun to school and committed suicide Tuesday at Springfield Township High School in Montgomery County in Pennsylvania.

"We have received a report that a student brought a rifle to the High School. Shots were fired. Some students left the building. What we know is that an unidentified student shot himself. Nobody else has been injured," the school district reported on its Web site.

The Web site said that no one else is injured, and that police are escorting students from the high school to the middle school.

The district said the school is in lockdown and parents are asked to stay away from all buildings until the district has more information.

Police said the situation is under control, but will not say if there are any other injuries.
