RegansBooks Fires Judith Regan

December 16th, 2006

New York, NY - HarperCollins has fired Judith Regan, OJ Simpson's would-be publisher of his hypothetical murder confession, If I Did It.

HarperCollins has fired Judith Regan, OJ Simpson's would-be publisher of his hypothetical murder confession, If I Did It.

"Judith Regan's employment with HarperCollins has been terminated effective immediately," the companies' chief executive, Jane Friedman, said in a statement yesterday.

"The Regan publishing program and staff will continue as part of the HarperCollins General Books Group."

Regan's firing comes less than a month after Murdoch's cancellation of Simpson's planned book and Fox television interview that was greeted with universal disgust when announced.

The book was said to describe how the former American football star would have hypothetically killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was acquitted of murder in 1995.

Since 1994, she has headed ReganBooks at HarperCollins.
