February 7th, 2007

Juneau, Alaska - Alaska Marine Highway head Robin Taylor submitted a letter of resignation to governor Sarah Palin and was gladly accepted.

Alaska Marine Highway head Robin Taylor submitted a letter of resignation to governor Sarah Palin and was gladly accepted.

Taylor has been on personal leave since governor Palin took office December 4th.

Taylor was appointed deputy commissioner of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities by former governor Frank Murkowski.

"The governor just wants to move in a different direction with the ferry service," Palin spokesman Charles Fedullo told the Juneau Empire.

"We want to find a director of the ferry service who is driven by information, and driven to make the ferries have a consistent schedule and make the ferries come and go on time," Fedullo said.
