Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali al-Khamenei asserted Thursday that any action against his country would prompt a reaction that would include a response against the aggressors and their interests around the world.

Addressing rumors of a possible U.S. attack against Iran, al-Khamenei said Washington should not try to frighten Tehran.

"Haven't the Americans attacked us before?" he asked the audience of Iranian military officials.

"The enemies know full well that any aggression against Iran will be followed by an all-out reaction of the Iranian nation against the aggressors and their interests throughout the globe," he said.

Al-Khamenei said analysts and politicians in the United States "understand that the Iranian nation will not stand for any aggression without responding properly."
