Spector said "I think I killed somebody"

May 16, 2007

Los, Angeles, California - Accused killer Phil Spector told his chauffeur "I think I killed somebody" on the day a woman was found dead at his Los Angeles mansion.

Accused killer Phil Spector told his chauffeur I think I killed somebody on the day a woman was found dead at his Los Angeles mansion.

The chauffeur, Adriano De Souza, made the claim while testifying at the murder trial of Spector, who denies killing actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.

He told the court he was sitting in his car at 5 AM when he heard a loud "pow".

He said Spector emerged minutes later holding a gun and with blood on his hand before making the admission.

"I stepped inside and I saw the blood on her face," he said.

The jury heard how Clarkson, who had been working as a hostess at a club, had initially been reluctant to accept Spector's invitation to go back to his home before she died.

De Souza said Spector had flown into a rage after she spoke to him.

"She said 'I'm going just for one drink'," he said.

He said Spector responded by screaming: "Don't talk to the driver!"

Four women have already told the court that Spector threatened them with guns.

Spector, who is famous for his Wall of Sound musical technique, claims Clarkson killed herself.

The trial continues today.
